Sorry, Shea said she had got through 2 rounds and a further text from someone else said they were in the final, so I imagined it had already taken place. Anyway, huge congrats to them both, doing not bad for never having danced together before

This is just amazing

To do that against couples who have practiced together for weeks is a great achievement!

Got another text to say they haven't gone any further only through to the 3rd round, and as is obvious from the above, I've no idea how many rounds there are.
Sheena's having a great time and is now relaxing and enjoying the party I'm pretty sure Stewart 38 will be too

Does no-one know how all the other competing forumites are getting on?

I've just heard from MinnieM. Woodface won the Double Trouble. Who were his partners?

I wasn't the only person in the room who was staggered that Mary Poppins won the showcase category.

Woodface's double trouble was excellent. Lovely moves, and his partners looked like they were really enjoying it.

Re: Ceroc Champs 07. The results and the aftermath

Just got home, Blueshoes you are fabulous, thank you, not only did you win a medal, [we came third in the Seniors and Blueshoes got through to the semis of Lucky dip], but after a full day of competitions, you also drove through the night back to Lancashire.

Fabulous day, the standard just gets higher and higher. Only one thing to suggest about the event, the competitors were crammed into a small space which didn't allow much room to work the floor. Perhaps more dance space would be preferable. Apart from that it was fantastic.

Going to bed with the dawn now. Thank you to all the lovely men who danced with me and the fabulous complements received. Lovely to see my friends and well done to the team for NANTWHICH, we brought some medals back to the North.

Night erm! morning all

Re: Ceroc Champs 07. The results and the aftermath

Must admit the Troxy was a brilliant Venue, much more room to dance and sit.
haven't got a clue who won what apart form
Lisa who won Cerocx ( it should have been me and witty but since the powers that be alllows teachers in to this category I suppose this is never to be)
and DirtyD came 3rd in Advanced - Congrats Duane you were brilliant.

Back to the venue - £2 for a 50p bottle of water - taking the p**s surely (on that subject the toilet facilities were pretty poor but hey you cant afford the water so you dont need the loo - brilliant organisation there)
I was a bit wary about the location but outside the venue a pub just up the road did brilliant food, and a lot of cerocers went there (the grub in the venue was cr*p to say the least)
But I am sure many forumites and non forumites will agree a brilliant venue overall and a brilliant day was had by all

Re: Ceroc Champs 07. The results and the aftermath

Well done to all the Bristol crowd Dani and Frankie you looked amazing even with the hick-up in the semis, (Dan was quickly getting changed after dancing in ceroc x,they must have given her 30 seconds before starting the track, leaving poor Frankie, standing on the dance floor minus his partner, But she ran out half dressed, and they danced their little socks off . Then to go onto win 1st place.Well deserved.

Congrats also go to Becky and Graham 1st place in advance
and Sharon and Will 2nd in ariels

Cant believe Jen and Dani wasnt placed in Ceroc x the girls looked amazing and stood out for me. You must be able to do more than a double spin in the final ?

A magnificent art deco building. It's a pity there was no proper dance floor.

Tap water was free.

3 urinals in the main loos is risible, but you can't blame ceroc for that.

There was very little food available and what there was was poor.

I've never been to the champs before. At dance events, the prevailing vibe is invariably very relaxed. As soon as I entered the venue, I detected a palpable sense of tension. It amazed me just how seriously many people were taking this. I hope that those who didn't win nevertheless had a fun time.

Re: Ceroc Champs 07. The results and the aftermath

A lovely venue! parking was fine as long as you were there early which i was. Plenty of room to dance and fans everywhere. The Marble room was beautiful but no one really went up there which was so annoying as i so wanted to dance on that floor.

Wont say too much about the results but really thought Amir and Cat were the best showcase although i could see how much time and effort the Mary Poppins couple had spent.

Not sure who the Dance with the Stranger couple were a very tall lady and the smallest man there - well done to them for making the best of an unusual partnering

Well done to all that took part

Thank you to all the lovely men i managed to have on the floor - next time Foxy it had better be you

Comp music mmmmmm challenging

I was helping the lovely Lucylocket along with Reetpetite so missed quite alot of the heats but what i saw i was amazed at the standard.

OMG there was loo roll all day and night in the ladies toilets and no puddles on the floor. Wow and soap

Bad things!

where the hell was the information table???? Lucy, Marion and myself felt like air stewardesses pointing out where the loos, changing rooms, marble room, dvd area, photos and staff were. I had people bringing their lucky dip slips over to me etc. Next year put the staff in brighter tshirts and have an information table in the foyer please!!!!

People had to walk across the dance floor whilst heats were going on just to get something to eat - should be some great footage of that on the dvd

All in all i had a really good day!

Well done to all who organised this!

Yay, congratulations to the Bristol mob!

Poooooor Danny and Frankie, but as you say, to bounce back from that was amazing!

I hear that Lesley (our super DWAS dancer) missed the Semi of the Seniors as well, which is a great shame as she normally ends up getting placed.

It was a fantastically spinny floor, and so good to dance on after the squidgy horrors of the temporary flooring in the main room.
