Thursday before Southport thread in north west.. May 31st 2007

Dear all.. we were thinking of stopping off in the midlands for a dance on our way up towards SP this Thursday.

Our initial thoughts were to go to Rugby again and see Marc and Rachel, Blind Dynamo and David Y and others, we've stopped there twice before and had a great time love the social drink in the bar after.

But on Thursday were now able to leave home a little earlier in the day and we could easily get up to the northwest by mid evening.

So the question is where is a good place to dance in the northwest on Thursday.

Is there any cluster of northern forumites as yet undiscovered?

Can we please have some recommendations from locals to the north west?

Mottram village Hall Mottram Jive Club

Monaco ballroom Wigan (ceroc North West)

Grosvenor ballroom Wallasey (leroc Merseyside)

Swinto masonic hall ( Barnside Jive)

Alsager Civic Centre Stoke (leroc Stoke)

The OC Club Bromborough (DanceNorthWest)

Cinnamon Club Altringham ( Cinamon Jive)

Oh please why is this the quietest thread on the forum ???

Surely someone has something to say about dancing in the north west on Thursdays??

I have no idea technically it's a SP thread and since the Forum is buzzing with everyone being excited about it this one should be no different! Pah!

I have no idea where is the best place to dance in the midlands
is since all the best dancers will be in Perth!

Thursday is custards leaving thingymejiggerywhatsit SO as much as i'd go to perth I'll have to wait see whats going on first....

Other wise i'd be up for perth! Don't forget big badge for the birthday girl!

Don't bother. The music is serious boing boing. It' s like they have a Now 56 and they play it from start to finish

The guy who runs it won't even credit you with an hello

The place is like a sauna on heat.

No fans. You will go through EVERY shirt you have packed ready for Southport.

The standard of dancing was well below par

This place is on a par with the ceroc midlands events. I'd stay away from them too

Ok that was a few more than 2 words.

However if anyone else in the midlands can actually recommend anywhere then Stokie and I would love to join you in the party before the big event.

I'm sure we could encourage Fletch to come too.

With June been so busy, I suppose I better make an effort to go to Bromsgrove or Kidderminster

Where to go

I really like the sound of Rugby. Fab dancers and The Pars have had previous great nights there.

We could always do something after as well. Maybe go for a meal/drink.

Under Par. If you wanted you could always travel back up this way of the country after dancing.

Very welcome to stop with us but there isn't a spare bed. Just a comfy sofa. We are only an hour from Southport.

Had another look at the map and think Dance NorthWest's Bromborough venue should be within range. Music is pretty fair, nice venue and friendly bunch. Also a certain little forumite who tends to be there on a regular basis
