Pace yourself. There is some great chilled dancing to be had on the Sunday, but obviously not if you are asleep or too wasted to really enjoy it. Try to take breaks back in your chalet, get in some naps when you can and get off the dance floor when it gets really busy (cos it is not really much fun when you start to worry all the time about bumping in to other dancers or being trodden on)

I must have missed you at Red Hot and Blue last Friday (I don't think we danced, anyway??), and to judge by what the other ladies have said, I missed out on something good... But then again I was really not on form last Friday (so tired I could hardly stand upright!), so it might have been a very lucky escape for you!

If you spot a Little Monkey at Southport (I'll be in the blues room 90% of the time), please come and grab me for a dance!

Teehee Please make sure that us newbies don't get left out.....
Kel - The only precautions you need to take before you go are to get lots of rest - can't waste time sleeping when you're there. Seriously though unless you've got the energy of my 13 year old daughter as Lost Leader says do pace yourself. Sunday is brilliant because it thins out a little and you have more space to play but that's no good if you're dead on your feet.

Always room for discovering new partners to dance with when you're there, you'll find some of us camped out in a corner of the Blues Room for the weekend so come and join in the fun.

LM - We didn't dance, next time I hope since I am planning on coming back up for the next RH&B on the 18th Apr. At Southport I'll be in the corner of the Blues Room with the Jive Nites team. We set up shop on Friday and that's pretty much us until some silly time on Monday morning. I promise to have a monkey hunt on Friday - can't have little critters running around can we!

Look forward to a few dances................

Will not make it to the next RH&B, unfortunately, as I'll probably be staying in a croft near Inverness with lots of mad cats and dogs that weekend!

Ooooh, hunt the monkey - a new game for all the family?

Definitely looking forward to a dance or five in the blues room!

Re: SOUTHPORT (30th May 2008 - 2nd Jun 2008)

sad to say i won't be going now....

its a shame but i have an exam the day after and southport is always the most tiring weekender...i would defiantly fail all my exams if i done southport

i wasn't very clever when i was thinking about southport

but i will need the time to revise

its a maths exam the worst but i need to pass and going to southport would distract me

however i will be rocking there in september

and also see all the fab groovers with your glitzy gowns for VLV

thats my last treat before the exams!

its only 3 weeks....

when i go back to school i'm really going to punish myself though...one class a week and one freestyle...lots more revising... no myspace, no games, no long marathons of simpsons.....revision lessons...

but none the less i will be at the champs and Viva Las Vegas so hope to see most of you there!

best wishes

Oh I guess I'll have to make cakes for SP too.. I haven't baked in months I've been too busy perfecting my range of chocolate desserts.

The Orange + Spiced Dark Chocolate Mousse and the White Chocolate Mousse with Berry Coulis (and I have an idea for a variation on a chocolate torte I have to experiment with, and a potential recipe for Chocolate cheesecake .. . At least now I live with Twirly I have a willing guinea pig )

However I might be persuaded to bake some sort of sponge .. .. I'll leave the lemon cakes to the expert though !

I get the feeling that a "Cakes for Southport" thread will be needed pretty soon.

That will be a long thread indeed, now that there's so many of us baking! Aaaaah, I remember back in the old days when it was just me..... Now there's stiff competition from Lemon Cake and pmjd, plus occasional inputs from Beo, and Freya and Little Black Dress have also joined the baking madness.

I'll probably make my carrot cake again, possibly another apple and cinnamon cake (as it was very popular at RH&B), blueberry cheesecake and...... Goodness knows what else! Depends on time, I suppose.... And requests!
