Re: SOUTHPORT (30th May 2008 - 2nd Jun 2008)

As SP draws ever nearer is it perhaps time to get things a bit more organised here by having separate threads for different SP related topics. That way you avoid ending up with just one huge multipage thread making it sometimes hard to keep track of things. My suggestion is for new threads along the following lines:

- SP the countdown, I'm so excited etc.
- SP the barbeque
- SP fancy dress and forum gathering
- SP what to pack, tips for newbies etc.
- SP baking, cake requests, LM's cafe

This thread, if moderators agree, could be closed just to keep things tidy.

Just an idea.

But this thread contains the poll of who's going - which is nice to see, and, I suspect, hard to transfer to another thread.

[mod hat on]

I can only speak for myself - I think its a 'nice' idea

BUT from experience, people don't tend to take much notice of the thread titles and are unlikely to keep to the subject anyway, so it'll get even more confusing and I can see us having to keep moving posts to the appropriate thread. Then we'll get complaints that we've moved stuff!

I think it might be a good idea to create a 'general' weekend advise thread, as a 'sub forum' of the 'Social dance forum' maybe..

including -
Packing advice.
What to expect etc

Sorry, will ask the guy who has it next week (will try to remember to anyway!).

You could prob also google and find a local one to Ainsdale if I keep forgetting!

I don't think that you'll need to bother Rebecca.
Wes made me lots of promises on Saturday,

The Blues room will now become a WCS room.
They will put champagne on ice at every table.
A gas BBQ is going to be supplied.
The Dream Boys are going to be there to wait on all the women.
Helicopters will be supplied for anyone travelling from a distance of more than 50 miles.
Footspas and massages available for everyone at the end of each workshop (personally given by Wes)

Well I'm sure there was at least one of those he said yes to ( If I agreed to give him the negatives )

Now what can I get John to promise me for his?

As long as he's paying, then good on him.

Don't have a problem with that, at least it will keep the fire engines away.

That sounds a bit sexist. I feel that the guys should be equally catered for - curvylicious Swedish masseuses?

I'm taking my own.. ok she's not Swedish.. and she's an aromatherapist not a masseuse per se but she's definately curvylicious which is good enough for me

Oi, I'm a fully qualified Swedish* massage therapist too I'll have you know!

Although the amount of dancing we'll be doing respectively, it's probably you that should brush up on your foot-massaging techniques

*as in the technique is Swedish massage, not that I'm Swedish...
