Great venue for it, but I don't think I would like to bring guests to the area...
That amount is probably cheap compared to holding it in Central London.

Still it's a lot of money to spend to hold a Dance Competition at a venue which does not even have a dance floor.

Was it Limehouse Basin? I must take a look - haven't seen that.

The actual bank of the Thames in that area ( and indeed all along the Thames Walk) is really nice, with expensive flats, but behind those areas is mainly council estates, with a lot of poverty.

Re: The Champs May 4th 2008 @ The Troxy

Well finally getting round to write a few words after unpacking and recovering from the honeymoon. Had an absolute blast of a day at the Troxy, great way to end it all, me and Mrs Fitz tickled pink to pick up some silverware. Thought we might have a chance of a place in the Ceroc X, gobsmacked to get the Advanced and some wonderful comments from the folks there.

Have to say a big thank you to the lovely Peaches and all round good guy Tiger Pants for being fun people to hang out with for the day. Great seeing you both again along with John, Hazel and Lyndsey. Must say we did nick a couple of your fashion ideas and for that we are completely unashamed, (but in return Tiger Pants you can keep the ipod you nicked from me last Xmas).

And, Lyndsay what a star! Fab wee dancer. When she pulled Russel Saxby, definitely a top tip for a place in the Lucky Dip, you guys were well cool together.

Great to see some new faces competing as well.

A big well done to Mike E, the DJ’s, judges and the rest of the crew. The whole thing ran like a well oiled machine, very professional.

Hey Mr Fitz,

Just wanted to say a huge congratulations to you & Lou on your win & 2nd place in London. As you say it must have been a great finale to a fab few weeks - guess marriage suits some people!

Hope to catch up in person soon. Met Lou in the supermarket the other day but need to see Oz pics.

Take care & well done again - not before time!

Re: The Champs May 4th 2008 @ The Troxy

Double Trouble
This is my first chance to add feedback as Kathleen and I jumped on a flight to Turkey the morning after the champs to recover from any stresses of the competition.
Firstly, I would like to thank the team at Ceroc for working hard on putting together a great competition and enabling us to show what I can do. I think the changes made to encourage the advanced category were a big success.
Too stressed last year to enjoy anything I absolutely loved the whole afternoon and evening this year.
My thanks and congratulations to all the competitors who put the time in with practice and costumes and just the courage to expose themselves to possible stress, judgement and any disappointment.
Thanks to the other double trouble competitors. Without you there would be no competition so thanks for helping to keep something I love alive. DD, Paul and Anita, you guys scared the hell out of us at Storm as you are great in freestyle. Hopefully we will get a dance soon. To Danielle, it was nice to meet you and I look forward to the DVD.
More personally, I would like to thank Kathleen and Marion for being part of the Jailhouse Ceroc team and for helping me with all the things that we tried. For the leads and the moves, the things that worked and the things that didn’t. Thanks for helping me move from a mainly choreographed routine last year to a developing a pure and smooth double trouble freestyle this year. I loved the things that we created especially the leads that we can use ongoing in freestyle. I absolutely loved it and was buzzing for days. I particularly enjoyed the final session in the marble room where I got to see the outfits you had chosen for the first time. I think the people there saw us at our best dancing to some great tracks from Rachel.
Thanks to Rachel and Marc for running a great chill out room. The music was fabulous and a great place to relax. I wish we could have spent more time with you.
Thanks to Rob of the massage team at Ceroc Camber weekenders. The guy is magic. Two days before the final Kathleen could barely move from our aerials and Rob managed to get her moving again.
Thanks to Kerry and Blue eyes for proving freestyle and not the team had just come to know what to expect.
Thanks also to Tim for a very useful session.
Thanks also to Simon R for some very important and useful advice. Advice that was key to our enjoyment of the show and our probably part of it in the future.
Finally, possibly my biggest thanks to John Sweeney, Marc Forster, Lily and all our friends and people that received us with great enthusiasm and gave us great feedback. This was my first step in showing Kathleen that competition can be fun after she found last year so stressful. With your encouragement I may just be able to talk her back into competing in the advance category.
Apologies to anyone I have forgotten.
