Blaze III Baking request poll

Time for my very first poll. I've put in as many ideas as I can think of and will bake as many as I can starting with the most popular.

I'll try to combine the dietary requests with the cakes as voted for by the dietary voters, although I can't promise to achieve complete overlap.

If you have any requests that aren't on my list, post them and I'll ask some nice moderator to add them

Re: Blaze III Baking request poll

LemonCake you are wonderful! Will you be coordinating the cake makers? Anything I make will be vegan and nut free and I can quite happily make them wheat/gluten free too. I've got it in mind to make a chocolate cake; those ginger cupcakes you had at the Edinburgh party plus maybe some chocolate cupcakes and some cookies....won't have a lot of time to make them though as we'll only be back from London the night before Blaze! So there'll be lots of action in the kitchen that night/next morning

Just get in touch if you need more info/help

Re: Blaze III Baking request poll

Oh no, I'm not co-ordinating, just trying to work out what I'll bake! I have found a vegan apple cake recipe but am not sure how lemon cake will work.

I'm going to spread the baking load by making some in advance and freezing - lemon cake works well for that. I've already got 2 banana cakes in the freezer so that's a definite!

My baking is strictly lazy only - tray bakes and loaves. Cookies are too fiddly for mass production, and anyway they're best still warm, like scones. Although I am tempted to try making stem ginger & plain chocolate chunk cookies, just to see how they travel, of course...

But you've listed some of my cakes (and pmjd's as well), which is why people probably think you're co-ordinating the cake baking.

Well, carrot cake, apple and cinnamon cake and blueberry cheesecake are already listed in the poll. My banana and chocolate cake and my raspberry and white chocolate muffins have been popular in the past, as has my chocolate and coffee cake and my white chocolate cheesecake.

I might be experimental and make dark chocolate and raspberry muffins if I have the time....

I will probably make the carrot cake and the apple and cinnamon cake again, as they're both so popular. There wasn't a crumb left of the apple and cinnamon one I made for the last RH&B, and that was HUGE! But I have no idea what else I'll make. Maybe chocolate...?

Re: Blaze III Baking request poll

I do a reasonable millionaire shortbread and a pretty decent fruit loaf so I could bring some of that along if anyone wanted any.... nothing that would compete with the likes of Lemoncake, PMJD and LittleMonkey though....

Re: Blaze III Baking request poll

I shall get myself organised and make a couple of Marble Chocolate cheesecakes for Blaze, having to keep them out of the venue might do them some good as they do melt rather quickly into a gooey mess but hey that's half the fun

Will be doing Banana & Chocolate loaf, will leave out the walnuts for the non-nut lovers out there. Have been asked to do a fudge cake and maybe do Chocolate Orange Cake or cappuccino cake again, haven't decided. Did get some new recipe books at Christmas but haven't had the chance to have a good look through yet.

As a change from cakes I'll also be doing Mint White Chocolate Truffles and Coffee & Dark Chocolate truffles and if I get the time I'm going to try and do a dairy free version of the coffee ones but that'll depend how my experiments go....any guinea pigs???

Franck can we get a caravan with an extra big fridge to accommodate all these cakes, as Little Monkey and I are sharing and get the feeling we might need it
