Another pre-poll thread for next weekend (for people to suggest events they're interested in, before the moderators make it into a poll in advance of the weekend itself).

If you want an event to be in the poll, mention it on this thread, and please use the format as described by Lory below. Don't leave it to the last minute - the moderators usually seem to create the poll around Tuesday, so it's helpful if events can be mentioned on here before then.

The only event I know of in Scotland this coming weekend is the monthly Edinburgh party, at the Harvester's Centre. Don't know if I'll make it yet. (Still not sure if I'll be dancing tomorrow in Edinburgh either.)

Can't go anywhere ruptured my achilles tendon last week (not dancing) going mad with frustration already and could be many months before walking again.

Makes you really appreciate the most basic things in life though.

Yeh going mad but good news is I have just ordered a shiny new fold away wheelchair. It has also made me realise how discrimnatory people can be against disabled people and how difficult it must be for people to come to terms with a life changing disability.

I get that sometimes. If I explain I'm deaf and ask someone to speak more slowly and clearly, they ignore me and start using the person who's with me as an intermediatary, even if it's a child who will understand nothing.

If I'm alone I get an extremely edited version, which is next to useless.

I know wheelchair users also complain that people automatically assume they are retarded.
