Whoops, I'm a bit late on this but if you are still up for some dancing after Dublane and Route 66 then ESDS are running Swing On A Sunday Afternoon on Sunday (21st) in the afternoon at The Counting House, 34/35 West Nicholson Street, Edinburgh (on the upper floor of the Pear Tree House) from 12.30pm -3.30pm. The cost is a mere £3 (or £2.50 for members/students/concessions).

There's also a special Swing on a Sunday Afternoon one week later on the 28th which will feature a Hip Hop Shim Sham lesson.

Happy New Year to everyone!

ESDS have a new Beginner's term of Lindy Hop starting this Thursday (8th) at 7.30pm at the Calton Centre, 121 Montgomery Street, Edinburgh.

We go back to the fundamentals so this is an ideal opportunity to get into the world of swing dancing

ESDS also have a dance night this Saturday (10th) at the Calton Centre 8.30pm-12 (bring your own bottle) and Lindy Hop workshops at improver and experienced levels on Sunday (11th) featuring Jonnie and Sibylle from the Netherlands.

Workshops on Sunday at the Calton Centre given by Richard Dixon and Judith Hammer from London. Workshops offered at two levels: improvers and experienced.

Hi folks

Hi folks

Just a wee reminder about upcoming ESDS events.

This weekend is our workshop weekend. On Saturday we have a swing dance featuring live music from the 10th Avenue Band, all the way from San Diego USA. This event will be held at Marco's. Starts 8pm. Tickets £8 on the door.

On Sunday we have Lindy Hop workshops with Julie Oram from Jitterbugs. Julie is one of the most experienced lindy teachers in the UK today.

Venue: Calton Centre
Times: 12-2.30 Improvers, 3pm-5.30 Experienced
Cost: £13 for a single workshop, £20 for two.

And look out for our Balboa workshop in June.

This Sunday (30th May), ESDS are holding their Swing On A Sunday Afternoon dance in The Couting House, West Nicholson Street, Edinburgh. (12.30-3.30)

Seeing as it was the living-legend-of-Lindy-Hop Frankie Manning's 90th Birthday this week, we're going to have a Frankie Tribute class between 12.30 and 1.15, featuring his solo from Hellzapoppin'..........(Only joking!

The class will be inspired from Frankie's teaching over the years)

Entry is paltry £3 or £2.50 for ESDS members.

My first post since the upgrade, hope this goes OK!

This Thursday (10th) there is no Lindy Hop class. Hall is being used for elections. Classes resume on 17th June with a new Beginner's block.

This weekend is the ESDS workshop weekend. On Saturdy afternoon, there is a Beginner's Balboa workshop with Paul and Natasha. Saturday evening is our regular dance night and Sunday we have Lindy Hop workshops with Paul and Natasha.

On Saturday there are Balboa workshops and Beginner and Intermediate level in Marco's.

And a reminder that there is no dance on Saturday night as we're all off to Glenrothes for a VE Day celebration.

And there is no Lindy Hop class this Thursday (5th) as the Calton Centre is being used a Polling Station.
