Dancing in San Francisco

I'm off to San Francisco and then travelling down to San Diego later this month for a couple of weeks holiday.

Does anyone know where i might get the chance to do a bit of ceroc whilst i'm out there.................. or the nearest thing to it ?

Cheers

The only modern jive that I'm aware of in the UK (after the demise of ReJive is in New York (http://www.modernjiveusa.com/).

You might want to see if there are some West Coast clubs ... I got stuck in a Florida town for a while and went to the local club ... just about managed to cope with it ... better than nothing.

You could try Michelle's WCS class in SF : http://pw2.netcom.com/~wcdancer/classes.html

Or for a good What's On try:

Sorry - I don't know San Diego.

As Gus has noted, there are no modern jive clubs at all in California. West Coast Swing is a good alternative; also Lindy-hop is fairly popular. In addition to Michelle Kinkaid's website you could also try the following websites for useful information on places to go dancing in SF and Southern California:-

http://www.softcom.net/users/bcdancer/index.html

http://www.tngsdc.org/

http://www.streetswing.com/homepage.htm

http://www.dancedancedance.com/swingclubs.html#44 (scroll to listings under "CA")

Let us know how you got on & what you think of the standard of dancing out there.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't find something suitable through the chat on Dancescape.com. (Another great bunch of friendly and helpful people)
